Napoleon McDaniels, the famous Cotton Belt bandit, who, with three others, on the night of June 9, 1890, ditched and robbed a Cotton Belt passenger train at Spur Switch, five miles west of Texarkana, and who was in the October following, given a life sentence in the penitentiary, and escaped from jail by braining his jailer on December 8 last, was captured in his house, in the north suburbs of Texarkana, Wednesday morning.  He has been at home ever since his escape, though reported in Mexico.  Tuesday he gave his fifteen-year-old son a brutal beating and threated to kill him, and the boy went to the officers and gave his father away.
