Charlie Alcorn ANDREWS - Services for Charlie Alcorn, 75, of Andrews will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with the Rev. H.A. Hanks officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews. He died Wednesday, Aug. 30, 2000, at Permian General Hospital in Andrews. He was born on Jan. 6, 1925, in Mt. Vernon. He married Gwen Boyles on June 28, 1940, in Sweetwater. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II from 1944 to 1946. He and his wife moved to Andrews from Sweetwater in 1948. He worked for E.L. Heard and Sinclair Prairie Oil Company in Andrews. He worked for Johnny Smith Motor Co. in Andrews and he served on the City Council in 1959. He was the chairman of the City Charter, First Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors, and a member of the Andrew Chamber of Commerce, the Andrews Downtown Lions Club and the First Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sandra Pearcy of Gunnison, Colo., and Dorenda Ayers of Cranbury, N.J.; two sisters, Effie Mae McCullough of Brandon, Fla., and Reva Earle of Garland; and three grandchildren. Benton Moxley ANDREWS Services for Benton Moxley, 85, of Andrews will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Andrews Church of Christ with John Snider officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home. He died Thursday, Sept. 7, 2000, in Jefferson Regional Hospital in Pine Bluff, Ark. He was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Hunt County. He married Sally Marie "Bobbie" Fort on March 6, 1941, in Andrews. She died Nov. 10, 1997. He was a pumper for Arco for 30 years and retired in 1974. He was a member of the Andrews Church of Christ. Survivors include two sons, Ray Moxley of Monticello, Ark., and David Moxley of Luling; two daughters, Martha Burleson of Atlanta, Ga., and Gail Herzog of Racine, Wis.; two brothers, J.W. "Jay" Moxley and Boyd Moxley, both of Andrews; a sister, Arlene Lonis of Carson, Calif.; 12 grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren. Submitted by: Lola Thomason
Maxine Hart ANDREWS;Maxine Hart, 76, of Andrews died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, in Andrews. Services are pending with McNett Funeral Home. Maxine Heart ANDREWS; Maxine Heart, 71, of Andrews, a homemaker, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2000, at her residence. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at Andrews West Cemetery with the Rev. Jim Terry officiating. Arrangements by McNett Funeral Home. She was born in Wichita, Kan., and moved to Andrews in 1950 from Sapulpa, Okla. She was a Metho-dist. SURVIVORS: Son, Curtis Hart of Round Rock; daughter, Shirley Ann Wood of Richardson; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four stepgreat-grandchildren. Submitted by: Lola Thomason
Jim Peoples Jim Peoples Sr., 74, of McCamey, a retired pusher for T&K Oilfield Co., died Tuesday, Oct. 3, 2000, at Memorial Hospital and Medical Center. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Crane County Cemetery with the Rev. Lyndel Lee officiating. Arrangements by Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home. He was born in Del Rio and had been a longtime resident of Crane before moving to McCamey. He was an Army veteran of World War II. SURVIVORS: Son, Jim Peoples Jr. of McCamey; daughters, Judy Timmons of McCamey and Anna Gunnels of Midland; brother, Charlie Peoples of Crane; sisters, Wilma Williams of Sabinal, Bill Pilgram of Andrews and Lottie Burdic of Ingram; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
