Larry Mack Callaway, 62 of Andrews passed away Wednesday March 22, 2006 at
Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Funeal services will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 24, 2006 at Second Baptist Church
in Andrews. Rev. Ivy Shelton of Odessa, Texas will officiate. Burial will be in
Andrews North Cemetery.
Larry was born August 19, 1943 in O'Donnell, Texas. He married Marsh Beth Harris
July 12, 1969 in Brownfiled, Texas. They moved to Andrews 31 years ago from
Odessa. Larry loved to laugh and spend time with his family and friends. He
enjoyed tinkering on things and he loved Cotton Farming, and watching old
Westerns on TV. He also loved dogs and his Grandchildren.
He is survived by: his wife Marsha Callaway of Andrews; Three Sons- Chad
Callaway, Mathew Callaway and Scott Callaway all of Andrews; one Daughter -
Shelly Sue Callaway, of Jeff City, Montana; Two Brothers - Kenneth Callaway of
Lubbock and Cecil Callaway of Seminole; Two Sisters - Cecilia Franks of
Brownfield; Nacy Williams of Seagraves; and Seven Grandchildren.

Funeral services for Alfred "Boots" Campbell, 86, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM
Saturday, January 13, 2007 at Clarksville Funeral Home in Clarksville, Texas
with Rev. Glenn Hammack, Pastor of House of Mercy Ministries in Andrews,
officiating. Burial will follow in the Avery Cemetery in Avery, Texas.
Arrangements in Andrews are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home and
arrangements in Clarksville are under the direction of Clarksville Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Michael Troxell, Jerry Troxell, Ron George, Aerin Shults,
Jason Quick, and Wesley Johnson.
He passed away on Tuesday, January 9, 2007 at Permian Residential Care Center in
Andrews.
He was born June 24, 1920 in Idabel, Oklahoma to Thomas Emert Campbell and Katie
Viola Porton. He attended school in De Kalb, and did not graduate due to his
military service. He served in the US Army during WWII. He received his diploma
as a honorary graduate of De Kalb High School in 2004. He married Esther Hogland
on May 19, 1944 in New Boston, and they moved to Mesquite in 1961. She preceded
him in death on August 12, 1980. He worked as a truck driver for 13 years for
Mosher Steel Company in Dallas. He married Maedean Alma Hogeland on June 14,
1981 in Andrews. They moved to Andrews in 1983 from Mesquite. He had worked for
Cobra Packers in Andrews. He was a member of House Of Mercy Ministries. He was
preceded in death by his parents; 1 brother: Roland Campbell; 1 stepson: David
Compton in 1996; and 1 stepdaughter: Joan Hammack in 2005.
He is survived by his wife: Maedean Campbell of Andrews; 1 son: David Campbell
of Clarksville; 2 daughters: Barbara Shults and Carol Harris of Arlington; 2
brothers: Alton Campbell of Alvin and F.D. Campbell of Valiant, Oklahoma; 3
sisters: Lorene Estes of Avery, Billie Estes of Batesville, Arkansas, and
Dorothy Heckadon of Idabel, Oklahoma; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; 7
step grandchildren; and 11 step great grandchildren.

Rose L. Carlson, 94, passed away Thursday March 22, 2007 at her home in
Andrews.
Funeral Servicecs will be 4:00 PM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev,
Larry Brewer of City of Refuge Church will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews
Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Rose was born January 1, 1913 in Loman, Minnesota.
Rose had an adventurous life. she graduated from Teaching College during the
depression, when it was hard to find work, so she waited tables. She served in
the US Navy during WWII from January 1944 until September 1945. She latter
worked for the Office of Indian Affairs, She owned a resturant , and a gas
station.
Rose aslo loved to travel and she traveled the world visiting many many
different countries.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Edwin Christianson in 1975 and
Clifford Carlson in 1986. and two brothers, Clifford and Roland Peterson.
She is survived by: her adopted family-Sarah Ellis of Andrews who was like a
sister to Rose; Sherri and Gonzalo Chavez, II of Andrews, and her her
Grandchildren; Gonzalo Chaves, III; Sarah Marie, Victoria Esther, and Ezikiel
James Chavez all of Andrews.

Services in Mexico will be 10:00 AM Thursday, May 18, 2006 at Funeraria Del
Valle in Ojinaga, Mexico with Rev. Adriana Mendez, Pastor of Centro
Evangelistico of Midland, officiating. Burial will follow in the Ultimo Refugio
in Ojinaga, Mexico under the direction of Funeraria Del Valle in Ojinaga.
He passed away on Monday, May 15, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in
Andrews.
He was born January 21, 1922 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Ismael Carrasco and Ester
Castillo Carrasco. He married Herculana Caballero in June 1955 in Ojinaga,
Mexico. He was a teacher for 25 years teaching at Manuel Ojinaga Escuela
Primeria and escuela nocturna escuela adultos in Ojinaga, Mexico. He moved to
Andrews in 1980 from Ojinaga. He was Pentecostal. He was preceded in death by
his parents; 2 sons: Ismael and Guillermo Carrasco; and 3 daughters: Noemi,
Ester, and Lourdes Carrasco.
He is survived by his wife: Herculana Caballero Carrasco of Andrews; 3 sons:
Humberto, Javier, and Rene Carrasco of Andrews; 1 daughter: Socorro Aranda of
Andrews; 1 brother: Gonzalo Eguiarte of Chihuahua, Mexico; 13 grandchildren; and
4 great grandchildren.

for Charles K. Chock Carruth, 67, of Andrews will be 10 a.m. Saturday, August 2,
2003, at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Larry Mobbs of Odessa
officiating. Burial will be in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of
McNett Funeral Home of Andrews. He died Wednesday, July 30, 2003, at Midland
Memorial Hospital. He was born October 24, 1935, in Lubbock, Texas, to Charlie
Carruth and Ouida Doty Carruth. They moved to Andrews in 1948 from Denver City.
He graduated from Andrews High School in 1955. He attended Hardin Simmons
University and San Angelo College. He married Joyce Dru Gardner on July 7, 1956,
in Pecos, Texas. She preceded him in death on September 10, 2000. He had owned
and operated Chocks Oil Well Service since 1972. He was involved in ranching,
Senior Team Roping Association, and American Quarter Horse Association. He
supported the Andrews County 4-H Club and the Andrews Livestock Association. He
had been a board of director for the First National Bank in Andrews. He was a
member of the Masonic Lodge and a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews.
He is survived by his son, Chris Carruth and wife, Becky, of Andrews; daughter,
Paula Sommers and husband, Lynn, of Andrews; mother, Ouida Carruth of Andrews;
sister, Kendall Robertson of Andrews; four grandchildren, Clif Ward, Casey,
Courtney, and Carson Carruth, all of Andrews; and a special friend, Gayle Miller
of Andrews. Memorials may be sent to the Andrews County 4-H Club, 215 NW 1st

Services for Ouida Doty Carruth, 88, of Andrews will be 10 a.m., Wednesday,
April 28 at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Dr. H.A. Hanks of Andrews
officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery. She died Monday,
April 26, 2004 at
her residence.
She was born
Nov. 11, 1915 to Homer and Martha Doty in Gainesville. She graduated from Sudan
High School and married Charles Carruth April 8, 1934 in Portales, N.M. They
lived in Sudan, Dumas, Houston, Denver City, and moved to Andrews in 1948. She
had owned and operated Carruth Trucking, Carruth-Stickney Oil Field Hauling And
Steamer Service, and H & H Drilling. She was a member of the Andrews Chamber Of
Commerce, Andrews Country Club, Study Club, Bridge Club and the Garden Club. She
was a member of the First Baptist Church.
She was
preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a son, a brother, a half-sister
and two half-brothers.
She is
survived by a daughter, Kendall Robertson of Andrews; stepbrother, Wayne Doty of
Sudan; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Blanche Castillo, 43, of Andrews will
be 2:00 PM Sunday, April 9, 2006 at Apostolic Worship Center in Andrews. Burial
will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
She passed away on Thursday, April 6, 2006 at her residence.
She was born January 19, 1963 in Pleasanton, Texas to Alfredo Pena and Elida
Gonzales Balderas. She has lived in Andrews for 30 years moving from Dallas. She
married Martin Castillo on April 1, 1985 in Dallas. She had worked at Andrews
Chiropractic for 10 years and Nurses Unlimited for 5 years. She was a member of
Apostolic Life Worship Center.
She is survived by her husband: Martin Castillo of Andrews; 1 son: George
Castillo of Andrews; beloved children: Ruth Ann Gonzales and Kayla Gonzales of
Andrews; mother and stepfather: Elida and Armando Balderas of San Antonio;
father: Alfredo Pena of Tucson, Arizona; 1 sister: Lilly Elia Carreras of
Dallas; 2 half sisters: Christina Gonzales of El Paso and Laura Barraza of Big

Jim Chadwick, 70, of Portland, Texas passed away at his home, January 6,
2007.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at City of Refuge Church in Andrews.
Larry Brewer, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews Old Cemetery
under the direction of McNett Funeral Home of Andrews.
Mr. Chadwick was born September 1, 1936 in Winnegar, Michigan. He married Marion
Reel in Juarez, Mexico, April 21, 1969. They lived in Andrews in 1969 when he
was transferd to Louisiana.
He worked in the oil fieldand latter and owned and operated the Rabbit Cove
Landing, RV park and Marina at Lake Tawakoni until 1999 when he and Marion moved
to Portland, Texas.
He loved to fish and spend time with his family.
He is survived by: His Wife - Marion Chadwick of Portland; Three Sons - Russell
Chadwick and his wife Donna of Patterson, Louisiana; Marty Chadwick and his wife
Jynna of Andrews; and Charles Reel and his wife Jo Anne of Corpus Christi,
Texas; One Brother - Bob Chadwick of Portland; and Seven Grandchildren.

Services for Marion Chapman, 79 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Friday, August 11,
2006 at Second Baptist Church. Officiating will be Rev. Kevin Covington, pastor
of Second Baptist. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
Marion passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2006 in Odessa.
Marion was born on December 31, 1926 at McCamey, Texas. She married Doug Chapman
on December 27, 1946 at San Anagelo, Texas. Marion was a waitress at Buddy's
Drive In for 28 years, she retired in 2001. She was a member of the Second
Baptist Church, her husband Doug preceded her in death on May 2, 1982.
Survivors include; daughter Brenda and husband Ronny Gandy, Hobbs, NM, sons Tom
and wife Liz Chapman, Ft Stockton, TX and Coley and wife Donna Chapman of
Walhalla, South Carolina; brothers Tom Spurger, Rock Springs, TX and Dick
Spurger, San Angelo, TX; sisters Lulia Rufla, Omaha, Nebraska, Helen Williams,
Milisap, TX, Sadie Gafford and Pat Hoelscher both of San Angelo, TX, 8
grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

Services for Leatrice Joy Collins, 79 of Andrews, will be 10:00 AM Graveside,
Monday, January 22, 2007 in Andrews West Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Rick

Leatrice passed away Thursday, January 18, 2007 in Kermit Nursing Home. She was
born on February 6, 1927 in Hope, Arkansas. She married Stewart Collins on
February 6, 1972 in Snyder, Texas. Leatrice was Charge Nurse for the Community
Hospital in Andrews for 8 years before retirement. She was a member of the Means
Memorial United Methodist Church.
Survivors inclulde, Husband Stewart Collins, Andrews; Step-Children Don Collins
of Oklahoma, Steve Collins, Andrews; daughter Sandra Guthrie, Andrews; brother
William Nelson, Mena, Arkansas; sisters Melba Kelsey anad Esther Ruth Parker,
both of Henderson, Texas; three grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services for Edward K. "Ed" Cook, 74, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Sunday,

services will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
He passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in
Andrews.
He was born on December 2, 1931 in Vernon, Texas to Herman Stiles Cook and Clara
Mae Sellers Cook. He graduated from Vernon High School in 1949 and served in the
US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He married Dorothy Mae Glenn on July 18,
1956 in Monument, New Mexico. They lived in Monument and moved to Odessa and
then to Andrews in 1966. He had worked for Tidewater Oil Company in Andrews, and
then owned and operated Ed's Auto Service in Andrews for over 20 years. He was a
past member of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce, where he also served as an
Ambassador. He was a past member of the Andrews Downtown Lions Club and Andrews
Zoning Board. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Andrews. He was
preceded in death by his parents; 1 daughter: Virginia Lee Cook; and 2 brothers.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Cook of Andrews; 1 son: Mike Cook of
Andrews; 2 daughters: Michelle Martin of Odessa and Marcy Rhoades of Andrews; 2
brothers: Charles Cook of Vernon and Richard Cook of Pasadena; 1 sister: Norma
Lockwood of Tracy, California; 7 grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

Isabel Cornejo, 78, of Andrews passed away Monday March 20, 2006 at Midland
Memorial Hospital.

Funeral Mass will be 10:00 AM Thursday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in
Andrews. Father Emilio Sosa of St. Ann's Catholic Church in Midland will
officiate. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
Mrs. Cornejo was born July 7, 1927 in Big Foot, Texas. She married Inez Cornejo
in 1943 in Pearsall, Texas.
They moved to Andrews in 1946 from Big Foot. She was a member of Our Lady of
Lourdes Catholic in Andrews.
She was a homemaker. She loved to cook and spend time with her family. She liked
to play Bingo.
She is survived by: Five Sons - Inez Cornejo, Jr. Richard Cornejo; Earnest
Cornejo; Jesus Cornejo and Ruben Cornejo all of Andrews; Three Daughters - Paula
Gonzales; Mary Lopez; and Tina Calderon also all of Andrews; and One Brother -
Lino Munoz of Andrews. 31 Gradchildren and 51 Great-Grandchildren and 8
Great-Great Grandchildren.

direction of Crofts Funeral Home in Johnson City. Visitation will begin Saturday
morning.

Memorial United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Doyle, Pastor, officiating.
Visitation in Andrews will begin Sunday morning. Burial will follow in the

Kenneth was born July 27, 1973 in Andrews to Kenneth Cross and Dianne Warren. He
was preceded in death by his loving father: Kenneth Cross, Sr.; his
grandmothers: Dora Day and Bettie Duffy; and his grandfather: Cecil Cross.
Kenneth is survived by his wife: Anna of Johnson City; two beautiful girls:
Samantha and Sierra Cross of Johnson City; parents: Gill and Dianne Warren of
Andrews; grandparents: Gordon and Elsie Day of Andrews; grandparents: Merril and
Bertha Johnson of Claytonville; mother-in -law: Isabel Alfaro of Austin;
father-in-law: Pete Alfaro of San Antonio; brother and sister-in-law: James

Esta Crow, 84, of Andrews passed away Friday, December 16, 2005 at Permian
Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
Family memorial graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Monday, December 19,
2005 at Wizard Wells Cemetery near Jacksboro and Decatur, Texas.
Mrs. Crow was born October 4, 1921 in Paducah, Texas. She married E.C. Corky
Crow May 28, 1940 in Wichita Falls, Texas. She moved to Andrews from Jacksboro
after her husband died in 1984. She loved to play bingo, scrabble, and work
cross word puzzels. She loved spending time with her family and was a homemaker.
She is survived by: Daughters- Jolinda McDonald of Andrews; Carol Seale of
Andrews; and One Son- Lester C. Crow of Andrews; and Nine Grandchildren and Many
Great-Grandchildren and Great- Great-Grandchildren.

Dyke Culp
ODESSA
Perry Dyke Culp, 48, loving husband, father, brother and son, went to be with
his Lord on February 4, 2006. Dyke fought a tremendous battle to overcome the
effects of a rare heart disease he had since birth and never lost his will to
live.
Dyke was born on October 3, 1957 in Plainview, Texas and moved to Andrews, Texas
in 1958. He graduated from Andrews High School in 1976 and some of his fondest
memories and dearest friends are from his schoolboy days in Andrews. Dyke loved
all sports and participated in many athletic activities at an early age until he
received a heart pacemaker at the young age of 13. He was an avid outdoorsman
and loved hunting and fishing with his family and friends.
Dyke married Connie Smith, on August 28, 1981 in Andrews. She was the love of
his life and remained faithfully by his side throughout his illness.
Dyke received a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Angelo State
University in 1981 and moved to Odessa soon thereafter. He worked in the
oilfield service and supply industry for 25 years for McElvoy-Willis, Cameron,
and Taylor Tools. He loved his work and the relationships he developed and
worked tirelessly to provide for his family.
Dyke was baptized by his father-in-law, C.A. Smith, at Southside Church of
Christ in Andrews. He was an active member of University Boulevard Church of
Christ in Odessa and he had a tremendous love for his Lord and Savior. His life
exemplified his Christian faith and this is the legacy he will leave with his
family and friends. Our hearts are broken with the loss of Dyke but we celebrate
the life of a wonderful Christian man who lived with devotion, commitment,
strength and courage.
Dyke was preceded in death by his father, Joe Ray Culp in 1967, his daughter,
Katlyn Jo Culp in 1991, and his grandparents. He is survived by his loving wife,
Connie, and wonderful children Kyndall, Landon and Kallie; his parents, Bubba
and Patsy Hoermann of Andrews; his brothers Tim Culp and wife Annette of
Midland, Trey Culp of Andrews, and Kip Culp and wife Missi of Lamesa; father and
mother-in-law C.A. and Iva Jo Smith of Andrews; and brothers-in-law Dale Smith
and wife Sabrina of Midland and Randall Smith and wife Tammy of Odessa; and
numerous aunts, uncles, nephews, nieces and cousins. Special thanks to Uncle Pen
and Aunt Helen for their loving care and support for the past 2 years.
The family will receive friends at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors in Odessa,
on Tuesday, February 7, 2006 between the hours of 6:00 and 8:00 p.m. A service
to honor and celebrate Dyke’s life will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, February
8, 2006 at Sixth and Jackson Church of Christ in Odessa under the direction of
Ministers Mike Oestmann and C.A. Smith. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial
Gardens in Odessa.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association.

Funeral services for Rev. Mitchell H. Culp, 80, of Andrews will
be 2:00 PM Sunday, March 13, 2005 at the Andrews Church of God with Pastor
Timothy G. Chenault of Sherman, Pastor Jason Connor of Andrews, and Pastor Ken
Redmond of Midland officiating. Military graveside services will follow in the
Andrews West Cemetery.
He died Thursday, March 10, 2005 at Hospice Midland Inpatient Unit at Midland
Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 31, 1924 in Clifton, Texas to Obadiah Culp and Alice Weldon
Culp. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He married Chloe Southern on June
2, 1942 in Mineral Wells. He had pastored churches in Progress, Texas and
Grandview and Mt. Vernon, Washington. He had pastored the Andrews Church of God
for 23 years. He also worked as a painter for Permian Regional Medical Center in
Andrews for 30 years. He was a member of the Andrews Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers: O.D. and Bob Culp; and a
granddaughter: Karina Culp.
He is survived by his wife: Chloe Culp of Andrews; 2 sons: Charles Culp of
Lewisville and Don Culp of East Wenatchee, Washington; 2 daughters: Bonnie
Edenfield of Bend, Oregon and Sherrie Taylor of Lewisville; 1 sister: Opal
Webster of Mineral Wells; 9 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Dick T. Cummins, 89, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Monday,
August 7, 2006 at the Andrews Church of Christ with John Snider of Greenwood
Church of Christ officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery.
He passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Parks Methodist Retirement Village
in Odessa.
He was born May 7, 1917 in Grandfalls, Texas to Aaron Dale Cummins and Mary Jane
Amberson Cummins. He served in the US Army during WWII. He married Dorothy
Scarlett on November 16, 1946 in Monahans. They moved to Andrews in 1957 from
Brownfield. He had worked as a electrician for Magnolia Oil, which later became
Mobil, for 30 years in Brownfield and Andrews. He was a past member of Mobil
Annuitant Club in Andrews. He was a member of the Andrews Church of Christ. He
was preceded in death by his parents; 4 brothers; and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife: Dorothy Cummins of Andrews; 1 son: Craig Cummins and
wife Bonnie of Andrews; 1 daughter: Scarlett Lee of Odessa; 1 brother: A.C.
"George" Cummins of Midland; 2 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
