THELMA LUCADO

Services for Thelma Kincade Lucado, 90 of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, formerly of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at the Andrews Church of Christ. Officiating will be Max Lucado of San Antonio, Texas and Dee Lucado of Mineral Wells, Texas. Burial will follow in the Andrews West Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.

Thelma passed away Saturday, May 19, 2007, in Ft. Smith, Arkansas. Thelma was born on July 23, 1916 in Comanche, Oklahoma. She graduated from Ralls High School in 1933. She married Jack Darrell Lucado on May 29, 1937 in Idalou, Texas, Mr. Lucado preceded her in death on June 25, 1985. Thelma was a Nurse, she worked for the Andrews Community Hospital before retirement. Thelma was a member of the Church of Christ.
Survivors include, sons; Max Lucado, San Antonio, Texas and Darrell "Dee" Lucado, Mineral Wells, Texas, daughters; Jacquelyn Wallace, Ft. Smith, Arkansas and Joan Carrigan, Tyler, Texas, eleven grandchildren and 15 great grand children.

PAULA JANE WOODS LAIRD
October 8, 2006

Paula Jane (Woods) Laird, 56, of Caldwell, the wife of Rev. Don Laird, died October 8, 2006 in Bryan, Texas.

Paula was born March 8, 1950 in Fairfax, Oklahoma, the daughter of Virgil Glen & Marie (Gentzel) Woods. She was a graduate of Frank Phillips Junior College and Southwestern Assemblies of God University. On December 29, 1972, Paula and Don Laird were married in Borger, Texas. Blessed with pefect pitch, a beautiful voice and the ability to bring a piano to life with her special touch, Paula supported Don’s ministry through music over the years. Paula was a teacher’s aide at Caldwell Intermediate School. Don and Paula pastored First Assembly of God Church in Andrews. They moved to Caldwell from Andrews.
Paula’s family includes her husband, Rev. Don Laird; her daughters and son-in-law: Tonya Laird-Carvin and Tamra & Matthew Ray and her grandchildren: Dylan Ray, Ethan Ray and Brittany Carvin, all of Caldwell. She is further survived by her brothers and sisters-in-law: Bill & Jean Woods of Enid, Oklahoma and Roger & Terri Woods of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Also surviving are her parents-in-law:Donald and Dorothy Laird of Artesia, New Mexico. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Public visitation will begin on Tuesday, October 10, 2006 at 9:00 AM in Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell, Texas. The family will be present to receive callers between 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM on Tuesday evening.
The funeral service will be in the First Assembly of God Church, 1206 West 12th St. (corner of 12th and Banks) at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, October 11, 2006 with Rev. Don Laird officiating. Burial will follow in Providence Cemetery in the Providence community of Burleson County. Serving as pallbearers will be Robbie Chmelar, Joe Addison, Thomas Nelson, Todd Huddelston, Paul Martin and Danny Norman.
In lieu of floral tributes, the family asks that donations in Paula’s name and memory be directed to First Assembly of God in Caldwell.

JAMES 'FRANK' LEONARD
November 3, 2006

Funeral services for James Frank Leonard, 76, of Andrews will be Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Glenn Hammack, Pastor of House of Mercy Ministries. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Frank passed away Friday, November 3, 2006 in Odessa. He was born on May 22, 1930 in Davidson County North Carolina. He married Remona Thomson on July 15, 1953 in Killeen, Texas. Frank was an engine operator for El Paso Natural Gas company for 31 years, he retired in 1986. Frank was a member of the House of Mercy Ministries and was a veteran serving in the Army in the Korea conflict.
Survivors include, wife; Remona, Andrews. sons; Mike and Kevin of Andrews and Tony of Lamesa, brothers Junior Leonard, Mocksville, North Carolina and Bennie Leonard, Lexington, North Carolins; sisters, Leona Leonard and Carolyn Presnell both of Lexington, North Carolina and 5 grandchildren.
Frank was preceded in death by a daughter Mona Kay Leonard, a grand child Christopher and 2 brothers, Tom and Fred.

 

DORTHY 'DOT' OLIVER LEWIS
August 3, 2006

Funeral services for Dorthy "Dot" Oliver Lewis, 49, of Dallas will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews with Rev. William S. McDonald, brother in law from Garland, and Rev. Robert L. Lee, brother in law from Oklahoma City, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Larry Grant, Jr., A.D. Grant, Ray Dunn, Jason Lee, Shane Oliver, Jesse A. Lee, and Bobby Lee. Honorary pallbearers will be Wayne McDonald, Andre McDonald, William S. McDonald, Jr., Eric Bailey, and Jesse L. Oliver, Jr.
She passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2006 at Centennial Medical Center in Frisco.
She was born on February 8, 1957 in Carthage, Texas to A.D. Oliver and Mattie Mae Robison Oliver. They moved to Andrews in 1967, and she graduated from Andrews High School in 1974. She moved to Garland from Andrews in 1974. She worked for Verizon, which used to be GTE, as a customer care advocate since 1992. She did missionary work on her own and was a mother figure to alot of kids. She was a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her son: Tobie Lewis in 1982; her father: A.D. Oliver in 1994; and her brother: Willie Oliver in 1980.
She is survived by her mother: Mattie Oliver of Andrews; 9 sisters: Willie McDonald of Garland; Lula Parker of Slidell, Louisiana; Betty Anderson of Garland; Cris Jenkins of Benbrook; Blondiel Dawson, Margo Oliver, Ruby Grant, Crissy Bailey, and Jo Armstrong all of Andrews; 5 brothers: Jesse L. and Clyde Oliver of Odessa; Jesse D. and James Oliver of Slidell, Louisiana; and Raymond Oliver of Andrews; 5 Godsons: Isaiah, Reginald, Xavier, Keziah, and Jeremiah; and longtime family friend: Lonnie Lewis of Dallas.

ALEXANDRIA FAITH LOPEZ
January 4, 2006

Alexandria Faith Lopez, infant daughter of Randy Wake and Amy Lopez, of Andrews passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2006 at Odessa Regional Hospital in Odessa.
Rosary services will be 7:00 PM Thursday, January 5, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 6, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bernard Gully of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Babyland Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Alexandria Faith was born December 24, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
She is Survived by: Her Parents - Randy Wake and Amy Lopez of Andrews; One Brother - Ethan Lopez of Andrews; Grandparents - Mr. and Mrs. Mario Lopez; Mr. and Mrs. Brett Stephens and Mr. and Mrs. John C. Wake all of Andrews; Great-Grandparents - Diamantina Lopez; Mr. and Mrs. Earnest Sierra and Mrs. Julia Wake all of Andrews.

 

DONNA LOVING
February 12th, 2005

Donna Loving, 55, of Andrews passed away Saturday February 12, 2005, at her home in Andrews.
Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Monday, February 14, 2005 at Andrews Church of Christ. Mark Wilson will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.
Donna was born November 23, 1949 in Andrews, She married David Loving December 7, 1978 in Abilene, Texas.
She drove a School Bus for Andrews Independent School District for 17 years. She was a member of Andrews Church of Christ. She loved to play video games and sew. She also loved to decorate and remodel her home. She enjoyed grooming dogs. She loved her Bus kids and her birds.
She is survived by: Husband-David Loving of Andrews; Three Daughters-Melissa Kay Fowler of Andrews; Desrah Guthrie of Utah; Shannon Michelle Loving of Kingland, Texas; and Leslie Deanne Callaway of Andrews; One Son-Thomas Guthrie of Elk City, Oklahoma; Her Father- Wilburn Green of Fredericksburg, Texas; Three Brothers-James Green of Houston; Michael McKinney of Andrews; Jeff Green of San Antonio; Two Sisters-Debbie Heath of Brownwood; Yvonne Bowden of Fredericksburg; Five Grandchildren and 1 Great-Grandchild.

RUFINA ARMENDARIZ LUJAN
October 31, 2006

Prayer services for Rufina Armendariz Lujan, 84, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Thursday, November 2, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Rev. Teodulo Garcia, Pastor of Tempo La Nueva Jerusalem Church in Andrews, officiating. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday, November 3, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Samuel Emiliano, Pastor of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church in Andrews, officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery
Pallbearers will be Eric Estrada, Edward Lujan, Edgar Lujan, Thomas Lujan III, Osvaldo "Lalito" Lujan, Jr., Josue Lujan, and Javier Solis.
She passed away on Tuesday, October 31, 2006 at her daughter's home in Waco.
She was born July 10, 1922 in El Mulato, Mexico to Antonio B. Armendariz and Petra Montoya Garcia Armendariz. She married Tomas Lujan, Sr. on February 26, 1946 in El Mulato, Mexico. They moved to Andrews in 1973. She was a homemaker and a member of Filadelfia Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her husband on April 4, 1976. She was also preceded in death by 1 daughter: Anamaria Lujan; her parents; 4 sisters; and 3 brothers.
She is survived by her 1 daughter: Socorro Solis of Waco; 8 sons: Armando, Arnaldo, Tomas, Jr, Margarito, Hector, and Guadalupe Lujan, all of Andrews, Osvaldo Lujan of Mexico, and Maurilio Ramos of Andrews; 1 sister: Gloria Grado of Artesia, New Mexico; 1 brother: Demetrio Armendariz of Fort Worth; 25 grandchildren; and 32 great grandchildren.
