Windsor "Windy" Adams, 79, of Andrews passed
away Sunday October 28, 2007 at Permian Regional Medical Center
in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday at Means Memorial
United Methodist Church in Andrews. Rev. Rick Doyle will
officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the
direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Windy was born March 3, 1928 in Stanton, TN. She married James
Willis Adams March 23, 1951 in Stanton, TN.
She worked for Dunlap’s in Hobbs, NM and Odessa before moving to
Andrews from Odessa in 1970.She also worked as a secretary for
Chocks in Andrews. And spent many hours working for the Andrews
Literacy program, the Library and She also worked the Concession
Stand during Andrews football games for many years.
She was a member of Desk and Derrick as well.
She was a member of Means memorial United Methodist Church.
Her husband James preceded her in death in June of 2006.
She is survived by: one son - James "Bubba" Adams II of Andrews;
Two daughters Susan Hoglund and husband Mike of Andrews and
Melanie Setzler and Husband Michael of Nemo, South Dakota; three
brothers - Art Louis Bruhn of Alaska; Bill Bruhn of Portland,
OR; and Otto "Bud" Bruhn of Brownsville, TN, and seven
grandchildren - Sarah Hayes, Adam and Kevin Hefner, Josh Adams,
Randi Jo Blackmon Rachel and Leah Setzler, and four
great-grandchildren- Hope Hefner, Brandon, Gabrel and Colby
Stokes.

Maxie Argabright, 27, of Andrews passed away Sunday
May 20, 2007 at her home in Andrews after a long, brave battle with Cancer.
Funeral services are 2:00 PM Thursday, May 24, 2007 at First Assembly of God
Church in Andrews. Rev. Kerry Tilley will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews
North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Maxie was born November 23, 1979 in Odessa. She moved to Andrews from McCamey,
with her family, when she was in the First grade.
She married Jason Argabright May 9, 1999 in Andrews. She was a member of the
First Assembly of God Church in Andrews. She Liked to go shopping and she loved
to travel. She loved Kids and animals and she enjoyed gardening.
She is survived by: Her Husband - Jason Argabright of Andrews; One Son -
Nathaniel Argabright Two Daughters - Skyla and Kaitlin Argabright all of
Andrews; Parents - Ed and Altia Hollis of Andrews; Her Father - Ronnie Jourdan
of Andrews; Three sisters - Serena Jourdan of Odessa, Christina Garvey and
Shilia Green of Youngstown, OH and One Brother - John Hollis of Youngstown, OH.

Jean Abbott, 76, of
Odessa passed away Wednesday October 4, 2006 at her home in Odessa.
Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Monday at Andrews North Cemetery in Andrews.
Marcos Zuniga of Odessa will officiate.
Jean was born April 15, 1930 in San Angelo, Texas. She married Lewis Abbott
September 14, 1948 in San Angelo. They moved to Odessa in 1951. Jean was a
Teacher and Coach for many years in the Ector County Independent School
District, She taught at Bonham Jr. High School and Goliad Elementary School. She
was an avid golfer and was a member and past president of the Permian Basin
Ladies Golf Association. She won the City Championship several times. She loved
her family and Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Lewis
Abbott, in 2005 and a brother David Jones in 1995.
She is survived by one son,Bruce Abbott of Odessa and his Daughter Taylor of Las
Angeles, California; friend,Kathy Casey of Odessa; one daughter,Carole Watts and
husband Dusty and thier son Seth all of Lubbock; two sisters, Rhonda Varley of
Dallas and Zachie Nichols of Aurora, Colorado.

And children. A Grandson Zachary Neil Hyde preceded her in
death in 1989.

69, of Andrews passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2006 at Parks Methodist
Retirement Village in Odessa.
Rosary will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church
in Mr. Acosta was born February 25, 1937 in Mulato, Mexico. He moved to Andrews
from Odessa in 1972. He worked as a Roofer and loved to listen to music. He was
member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. He was preceded in
death by his parents Marcos and Sulema Acosta; one brother, Elizaer Acosta, and
Two Sisters, Ofelia Bustamante and Sara Juarez.
He is Survived by: Four Brothers - Eulogio Acosta of Andrews; Enrique Acosta of
Odessa; Edmundo Acosta of Andrews and Emilio Acosta of Andrews; Three Sisters -
Consuela Lujan of Odessa; Lydia Molinar of Andrews and Rosa Elma Vasquez of
Andrews.Andrews. Father Emilio Sosa of Midland will officiate. Burial will
follow in Andrews North Cemetery.

James W. Adams Jr., 76, of Andrews will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 28, 2006 at

Jonnie Miller of St. Anthanasius Christian Orthodox Church in Andrews
officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
James passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006 at Hospice Midland Inpatient Unit in
Midland.
James was born March 13, 1930 in Wewoka, Oklahoma to James Willis Adams, Sr. and
Lena Henrietta Polk Adams. James graduated from Rotan High School and attended
Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene. James married Windy Bruhn on March 23,
1951 in Stanton, Tennessee. James was a past golden glove boxer in Abilene and
Odessa. They moved to Andrews in 1970 from Odessa. James had worked for Dia-Log
Wireline, Homco Wireline, Lightfoot Wireline, and had owned and operated Stuck
Pipe Recovery. James was famous for his chilli and cooked at Desk and Derrick
Club and many other events and functions in Andrews. He was preceded in death by
his parents and 1 sister.
James is survived by his wife: Windy Adams of Andrews; 1 son: James W. "Bubba"
Adams, III of Andrews; 2 daughters: Susan and husband Mike Hoglund of Andrews
and Melanie and husband Michael Setzler of Nemo, South Dakota; 1 brother Ewell
Adams of Sallisaw, Oklahoma; 1 sister: Beth Tucek of Lewisville, Texas; 7
grandchildren; Josh Adams, Kevin and Adam Hefner, Sarah Hayes, Randi Jo Adams
and Leah and Rachel Setzler; 4 great grandchildren: Hope Hefner and Brandon,
Gabriel and Colby Hayes; many neices and nephews. Visitation will be Tueaday,
June 27, 2006, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

JOEL ADKINS

Joel Adkins, 71, of Andrews
passed away peacefully Monday February 5, 2007 at Home Hospice House in Odessa
after an agonizing battle with cancer.
Funeral Services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at First Baptist Church in
Andrews. Dr. Jeff Donnell , Pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews
Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Joel was born May 18, 1935 in Ryan, Oklahoma. Joel served it the US Army. He
married Mary Beth Taylor, May 27, 1961 in Dallas. He lived in Andrews from 1957
until 1964 when he and Mary Beth moved to Carrollton Texas. Joel was very
involved in his community. He was active as a volunteer fireman, served on the
City Zoning board; Jr. Deacon at First Baptist Church in Dallas was a deacon at
First Baptist Church Carrollton. He was active in United Way, Toastmasters and
the Masonic Lodge.
He worked for Halliburton for 30 years in International Sales, and had invented
several tools used in the oil and gas industry and also held several Halliburton
patents for oil field, down-hole equipment. He retired in 1994 and in 1996 He
and Mary Beth moved back to Andrews from Phoenix, Arizona.
Joel is now in heaven, no doubt entertaining angels with his humor in a pain
free body. Joel was a great father, grandfather, husband, Brother in law,
Christian and friend.
Joel was a friend to all and a stranger to none.
He is survived by: His Wife - Mary Beth Adkins of Andrews, Texas; Two Daughters
- L'Jon Gryder and husband Guy of Orange, Texas; Angie Rodebaugh and husband
Mike of Orange County, California; Two Brothers - Bobby Adkins of Prescott, AZ;
and Darrell Adkins of Andrews; and Three Grandchildren - Noah, Joel and Kate
Rodebaugh of Orange County, California.
We trust that “all things work together for good to those who love God, who are
called according to his promise.” Romans 8:28.

Funeral services for
Frances Lucille McCollum Allbright, 80, of Andrews Texas will be held at 2:00
P.M., Monday, March 13th, 2006 at the First Baptist Church in Andrews with Rev.
Bryan Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.
Frances passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2006 at Home Hospice House in Odessa.
Frances was born June 15, 1925 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to Foris Theodore
McCollum and Lucille Managan McCollum. She graduated from Lamesa High School in
1942 and received her Bachelors degree in Business Administration from Baylor
University in 1946. She then returned to Lamesa, working for Jenkins and Wood
Cotton Buyers. She married Wilburn Taylor “Joe” Allbright on June 15, 1948 in
Lamesa. In January 1949, they moved to Andrews to farm and ranch. Soon after
moving to Andrews, they moved their letters to the First Baptist Church. In
addition to being a Sunday School teacher for many years, Frances served on the
Day Care Committee for the First Baptist Church, was President of the Andrews
Study Club, a charter member of the Andrews Branch of the American Association
of University Women; served two terms on the Andrews School Lay Advisory
Council, was President of the American Cancer Society, served on the United Fund
board, was a charter member, President and presented with Lifetime membership in
the Women’s Division of the Andrews Chamber of Commerce. She was assistant
director of the West Texas-New Mexico Health Education Resource Program, and a
Lay Advisor to Continental Telephone Company. Frances also served as a Director
of the Baylor University Ex-Students Association, and was Secretary-treasurer of
the Board of Directors of Andrews Senior Citizens Center, Inc. Frances served as
President of the Andrews Country Club and was actively involved with the Andrews
Friends of the Library and Ocotillo Garden Club. Frances also was a member of
Kappa Alpha Theta and Phi Gamma Nu fraternities. Having been a recipient of the
“Gift of Life” by receiving a Liver Transplant over 15 years ago from a loving
donor, Frances was ever so grateful by encouraging others to become organ donors
as well as consoling and encouraging numerous others with liver disease to not
give up and pursue the option of Liver Transplant Surgery.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents Foris Theodore McCollum and Lucille
Managan McCollum and her brother, Foris Theodore McCollum II of Fort Sumner New
Mexico.
She is survived by her husband Wilburn Taylor “Joe” Allbright of Andrews; 4
sons: Joe McCollum Allbright and wife Vicki of Odessa; William Taylor Allbright
and wife Linda of Andrews; James Francis Allbright and wife Elaine of San
Angelo; John Managan Allbright and wife Judy of Andrews; nine grandchildren and
two great grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Home Hospice in Andrews or Odessa and Parks Methodist
Retirement Village in Odessa.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Munsell; O.B. Raburn; John R. Parish; Gordon Cox;
Forest C. Scott; Dick Garrison; Leland Hamilton; Dr. Z.W. Hutchinson and Paul

W.T. 'JOE' ALLBRIGHT

W. T. "Joe" Allbright, at the age of 86 went to join his
beloved wife, Frances on Sunday, December 31, 2006.
Funeral services will be 2:00 Thursday, January 4, 2006 at the First Baptist
Church in Andrews with Rev. Bryan Johnson of Home Hospice in Andrews, Rev.
Milton Jochetz of Stanton, and James Allbright officiating. Burial will follow
in the Andrews Old Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kenneth Munsell; O.B. Raburn;
John R. Parish; Gordon Cox; Leland Hamilton and Paul New. Honorary pallbearers
will be the Andrews Masonic Lodge and Andrews Rotary Club members.
Wilburn Taylor Allbright was born near Crockett, Texas on July 20, 1920, the son
of Oscar Edward and Pearl Goodwin Allbright. The family moved to Loraine, Texas
in 1924, and Wil and his three brothers grew up helping their dad on the farm in
Mitchell County. His brothers gave young Wil the nickname "Joe", which stuck
throughout his adult life, and many people were never aware that is not his real
name. After graduating from Loraine High School, Joe went to Texas Tech where he
played football from 1938 thru 1942 having the honor of being one of Coach Pete
Cawthorn's boys. Joe served as the team captain his senior year. He was forever
a true and dedicated Red Raider. Joe had enlisted in the Air Force Reserve, and
was called to active duty after the 1942 season. He served as a B-24 pilot with
the 5th Air Force in the Pacific, and was discharged in 1947 with a Captain's
rank. He held a Major's rank in the Air Force Reserve, inactive. Receiving his
discharge in 1947, Joe moved to Lamesa, Texas where he had accepted a position
in the high school coaching football and teaching history and aeronautics. Soon
after moving to Lamesa, he met Frances McCollum, and they were married June 15,
1948. The Allbrights moved to Andrews in January 1949 to farm and ranch 4 ½
miles southeast of town. Soon after moving to Andrews, they moved their letters
to the First Baptist Church, and thru the years, each of their four sons were
baptized there. Joe was elected to the Agriculture Stabilization Committee, and
appointed by the Commissioners Court to serve on the Permian General Hospital
Board. In 1956, he was elected County Commissioner of Precinct 1, a position he
held for sixteen years. These were years of great growth and progress in Andrews
County, and Joe enjoyed being a part of it. While he was in office, the County
paved the city streets and many rural roads; built Permian General Hospital and
a new library; constructed the little league parks; dredged out the old lake to
create Lakeside Park; enlarged the cemetery, lengthened and lighted the airport
runways and built the airport terminal building; added an additional nine holes
to the golf course, acquired the right of way to make Highway 385 four lanes,
and completed numerous other projects. Joe was on the original board of
directors of Commercial State Bank, served on the board of Andrews County
Chamber of Commerce, served as President of the Texas Tech Ex-Letterman's
Association and as a Loyalty Fund Trustee for Texas Tech Ex-Students
Association. Joe served on the Andrews School Lay Advisory Council, and other
civic organizations. He was a 32nd degree Mason and member of Andrews Andrews
Masonic Lodge #1024, a charter member of Andrews Rotary Club. Joe enjoyed
fishing in Lake City Colorado, playing golf, and with the help of farm hands
cleared mesquite for the first golf course in Andrews County. Joe was preceded
in death by his wife, Frances McCollum Allbright; his parents, Edward and Pearl
Goodwin Allbright; and three brothers, Oscar, G.W. "Jigs", and Jack Allbright.
He is survived by his 4 sons: Joe McCollum Allbright and wife Vicki of Odessa,
William Taylor Allbright and wife Linda of Andrews, James Francis Allbright and
wife Elaine of San Angelo, and John Managan Allbright and wife Judy of Andrews;
15 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.

services for Marvin Joe Anderson, 64, of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Monday, October
17, 2005 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews with Pastor Bobby Bell of Tree
of Life Foursquare Church in Odessa, and Pastor James Anderson, Brother, of
Venus, Texas officiating. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hestand, Delbert McNiel, Joe Glen Hestand, James
Buchanan, Kenny Orson, Daniel Anderson, and Cody Anderson.
He passed away on Friday, October 14, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in
Andrews.
He was born November 17, 1940 in Old Glory, Texas to Dan Anderson and Agnes
Lorene Reed. He married Margaret Jean Aubrey on June 7, 1959 in Paducah. He
farmed in Rule, Texas until they moved to Andrews in 1978. He worked as a
roughneck for MGF Drilling and Cactus Drilling in Odessa. He was a Baptist.
He was preceded in death by his father; 2 brothers; and 1 sister.
He is survived by his wife: Margaret Anderson of Andrews; mother: Agnes Anderson
of Rotan; 3 sons: Alan Anderson of Rule, Terry Anderson of Andrews, and Stewart
Anderson of Rockport; 1 daughter: Tammy Sumruld of Odessa; 4 brothers: Danny
Anderson of Rule, James Anderson of Venus, Garland Anderson of Bryson, and
Calvin Anderson of Lexington, Kentucky; 2 sisters: Anita Yarbrough of Cordova,
Alaska and Melba McNiel of Snyder; 12 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Aranda, 74 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Friday, February 24, 2006 at Templo La
Nueva Jerusalem Church with Rev. Teodulo Garcia pastor officiating. Burial will
follow in the Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Elvira died at her residence in Andrews, Wednesday, February 22, 2006. She was
born on May 7, 1931 in Ojinaga, Mexico. She married Belen Aranda in 1959 in
Mulato, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a member of Templo La Nueva Jeruzalem
Church.
Survivors include; husband, Blen of Andrews, sons, Herminio Armendariz, Kermit,
Elinardo Armendariz, Wink, Efren Aranda, Lubbock and Manuel Garcia, Greeley, Co;
daughters Martha Torres, Kermit, Obdulia Lopez, Dallas, Marisal Lares, Odessa
and Arabela Flores, Andrews; brothers, Ricardo Saenz and Hector Saenz both of
Kermit, Ruperto Saenz, Rigoberto Saenz and Laurencio Saenz all of Ojinaga,
Mexico; sisters, Gaudalupe Ramirez, Wink and Graciela Torres, Andrews, 36
grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren.
Elvira was preceded in death by her parents and a son Heriberto Armendariz.

Lourdes Catholic Church with Rev. Joseph Uecker officiating. Burial will follow

Anselmo passed away Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center
in Andrews. He was born on April 21, 1923 in Mulato Chihuahua, Mexico. He
married Felicitas Espinosa, she preceded him in death on April 19, 1998. He was
a retired labor in the construction business, and a member of the Catholic
Church.
Survivors include; brother, Calistro Armendariz, Andrews; sisters Santos Sanchez
and Adela Baeza both of Andrews; several nieces and nephews including Rosa
Rangel of Andrews.

"Jake" Armstrong, 90, of Andrews will be 4:00 PM Tuesday, May 2, 2006 in McNett
Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Frank Parker of Muleshoe. Burial will
follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Jake passed away in Andrews on Saturday, April 29, 2006. He was born on November
3, 1915 in Knox City, Texas. He married Georgia M. Stubbs on September 20, 1941
in Lubbock, Texas. Jake was a farmer, he farmed in Lamb County for many years,
he also was carpenter. He loved fishing, playing golf, yatzee and gin rummy. He
was a Mason for 59 years. He was preceded in death by his wife Georgia on
September 6, 2001. His son ,Jerry, and his brother, Bob, preceded him in death.
Survivors inclulde; daughter Roxy Baber and husband Wayne of Andrews. 3
Grandchildren; Craig Armstrong, Robyn and husband Glen Abney, Brett Baber; and 3
Great Grandchildren; Logan Baber, Dustin Abney and Ashley Abney.

She was born April 30, 1943 in Hockley County, Texas to Johnnie Newton Spears
and Winona Parthine Nickell. She was married to Danny O'Neil. She had lived in
Winters, Pecos, Odessa, Big Lake, and moved to McCamey in 2004. She was a
homemaker and a Baptist. She was preceded in death by her parents; and 1
brother.
She is survived by her husband: Danny O'Neil of McCamey; 1 daughter: Robyn Abney
and husband Glen of Andrews; 1 son: Craig Armstrong; 1 sister: Johnnie Parker of
Muleshoe; 2 brothers: Junior Wright of Amarillo and Curtis Spears of Lubbock; 7

52 of Andrews, will be 11:00 AM Graveside at Snyder Cemetery Snyder, Texas,
Wednesday, February 28, 2007. Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral
Home of Andrews. Darrell passed away Sunday morning, February 25, 2007, at his
residence.
He was born on May 17, 1954 in Snyder. He graduated from high school in
Seminole, Texas 1972. He married Nancy Adams on January 1, 1981 in Lamesa,
Texas.
He served in the Navy durring the Vietnam war. Darrell was a lease operator.
Survivors include; wife, Nancy, Andrews, son; Larry Fletcher, Dallas, daughters;
Becky Terry, Big Spring, Ann Llorente, Killeen and Kimberly Whitt, Big Spring,
Mother; Mary June Ashley, Kingsland; grandmother, Tommie McGinty, Kingsland,
brothers; Jerry of College Station, Texas and David of Kingsland, sister; Kenita
Ashley, Kingsland, 20 grandchildren anad 15 great grandchildren.
A son Russell fletcher, preceded him in death in 2003, and his father, Kenneth
Dale Ashley in 2001.

Andrews passed away Friday January 6, 2006 at Midland Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in
Andrews. Larry Brewer, Pastor of City of Refuge Church in Andrews, will
officiate. Jerry's Brother-in-law, Cecil Robinson, and Glenn Cavitt will assist.
Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery.
Jerry was born September 11, 1944 in Hobbs, NM to Robert and Ellie Claire Awalt.
He married Connie McDonald June 3, 1966 in Kermit, Texas. They moved to Andrews
in 1983 from Bryan, Texas. He owned and operated Awalt Hot Oil Service since
1987. Jerry was a member of The City of Refuge Church in Andrews. He was an
active member of the Kairos Prison ministry since 1996 and an active member of
the High Sky Emmas also since 1996.
Preceding in death were; his parents-Robert and Ellie Claire Awalt; two sisters
- Barbara Nell White and Norma Lee Robinson, and Grandson Johnathan Lee
Grinslade.
Jerry is survived by; His Wife - Connie Awalt, of Andrews; Two daughters - Tammi
Land and her husband Doug of Andrews; Teri Grinslade and her husband Jody of
Andrews; One Son - Tim Awalt and his wife Shayla of Odessa; One Brother - L.A. "
Arch" Awalt of Sacramento, California; One Sister - Mona Lee Coggan Hale of
Tyler; Six Grandchildren - Rhea Lynn, Parker and Paige Grinslade and Ashley,
Austin and Allison Land all of Andrews. And Jerry's Mother-in-law - Yvonne
McDonald also of Andrews.
Pallbearers will be; Julian Nunez, Tim Thorton, Gill Warren, Jerry Jones, John
Ritchey, and Jerry Dozier. Honorary Pallbearers are; Ken Black, Glenn Cavitt,
Stan Morris and John Gross.

Merrett "Andy" Andrews, 81, of Andrews passed
away Friday December 7, 2007 at his home in Andrews.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Monday December 10, 2007 at
Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews. Pastor Rick
Doyle will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews West Cemetery
under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Andy was born March 7, 1926 in Hyman, Texas.
He served in the 10th Mountain Division of the US Army durring
World War II. Andy was awarded the Bronze Star for his service.
Andy married Dorothy Terrell April 26, 1949 in Monahans, Texas.
They moved to the Andrews area in 1949, they lived in oil camps
and have been residents of Andrews ever since. Andy work for
Phillips Petrolium as a mechanic and field operator for 38
years. He loved to play with his gradchildren.
Andy was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myrtel
Andrews and a son, Michael Andrews.
He is survived by his wife; Dorothy Andrews of Andrews, two
sons; Matt Andrews and his wife Kay of Brady, Mark Andrews and
his wife Sara of Lima, NY, one brother; Fred Andrews of Lubbock,
two sisters; Mary Robison of College Station, Texas, Ruth Walker
of Abilene, and Lorane Jackson of Hico, Texas, five
grandchildren; Blake, Lance and Kyle all of Brady, Alyssa and
Christopher of Midland.
