 C.E. "Eddie" Fowler, 63, of Andrews died Monday August 8, 2005 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.

 Memorial Services are 1:00 PM Friday, at the Andrews Church of God. Jeff Welter of Gardendale will officiate.

 Eddie was born June 18, 1942 in Andrews, Texas and has been a life long Andrews resident. He servded in the US Navy from 1959 to 1961. He worked as Grounds Keeper of the Andrews County Court House for many years.
He loved music and enjoyed hunting when he was young, with his brothers and grandfather.

 He is survived by; Two Sons-Eddie Fowler, Jr of Andrews; Joe Fowler of Andrews; Daughter- Malissa K. Fowler of Corpus Christi, Texas; His Mother- Margie Reed of Andrews; Bothers- David Fowler of Andrews and James Reed of Santa Anna, Texas; Sisters-Julia Rich of San Angelo; Jane Grace of Andrews and Jakie Ann Cowling of South Dakota; and Eight Grandchildren and one Great-granschild.

Oleta Fowler Flack

She operated an upholstery shop from her home for many years. She baked custom cakes for birthdays and weddings. She taught cake decorating, ceramics and upholstery classes for Rend Lake College. She owned and operated a ceramic shop specializing in porcelain dolls. Mrs. Flack was born Oct. 23, 1916, in Loraine, Texas to the late James A. and Elizabeth (Evans) Fowler. She married Howard A. Flack Dec. 21, 1939, in Odessa, Texas; he died June 5, 1976. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Johnston Funeral Home in Mt. Vernon. Addison Sharpe will officiate. Burial will be at Mt. Vernon Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Johnston Funeral Home. She is survived by two sons, Frank Flack and wife Teresa of Hamilton, Ohio and Harry Flack and wife Jana of Mt. Vernon; three daughters, Dorothy Wood and husband Lyle, and Gloria McKiness all of Mt. Vernon and Martha Mick and husband Larry of House Springs, Mo.; one step-son, Charles Flack and wife Joyce; three step-daughters, Grace Beavers, Kathryn Edwards and Velma McClung all of Texas; 18 grandchildren; 4 great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lola Thomason and husband Jack of Big Springs, Texas. Mrs. Flack was a 4-H leader for many years. She was a member of Jefferson County Home Extension and the Mt. Vernon Family Worship Center. She was preceded in death by two sons, Herman Allison and Raymond Allison; one grandson, Roger Alan Wood; one son-in-law, Ray McKiness; and three brothers, J.A. Fowler, Barney Fowler and Edward Fowler. For those who wish, memorial contributions may be made to the Hospice of Good Samaritan Hospital or the American Kidney Foundation.

Edith Aline Fleming, 87, of Andrews passed away Monday January 1, 2007 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews.
Memorial Services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, January 6, 2007 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Her Grandson, Darrell Floyd of Stephenville, will officiate.
Edith was born December 8, 1919 in Byers, Texas. She moved to Andrews in 1956 from Burkburnett, Texas.
She worker for Piggly Wiggly Grocery Store and then Modern Thriftway Grocery Store for more than 30 years combined.
She is survived by: One Daughter - Nancy and husband Dean Floyd of Andrews; Two Sons - Waymon Fleming of Kerrville; and Ronnie Fleming and his wife Terri of Magnolia, Texas; Four Brothers - Bob Adair of Bagota, Texas; Ted Adair of Graham, Texas; Harlon Adair of Waurika, Oklahoma; and K.W. Adair of Durant, Oklahoma; Two Sisters - Lunie Fleming of Friona, Texas and Mary Laverne Heinberger of Andrews; Three Grandchildren - Teresa Floyd of Andrews; Darrell Floyd and his wife Cheryl of Stephenville, and Angie Gibson of Lubbock, and Four Great Grandchildren.
The Family request that in lieu of flowers, memorial gifts be made to: Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews or Home Hospice in Andrews, or a favorite charity.

 

 

ENCARNACION 'SEAN' GARCIA FLORES
February 17, 2006

Services for Encarnacion "Sean" Garcia Flores, 80 of Andrews, will be 2:00 PM Sunday, February 19, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Toni Rodriguez. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
Sean died Friday, February 17, 2006 in Permian Regional Care Center in Andrews. He was born on May 24, 1925 in Imperial, Texas. He was a retired Field worker.
Survivors include; brother, Alberto Flores, Sr., Andrews, sisters; Carolina Ramirez, Andrews and Balbina Rodriguez, Galeton, CO, several nieces and nephews. His parents, two brothers, Reynaldo and Manuel and a sister, Ofelia Jimenez preceded him in death.

 

James Andrew “Jim” Fowler

April 26, 1963

Funeral services will be held here Monday at 3 p.m. for James Andrew Fowler, 70, long-time resident of Andrews County.

Services will be held in the Second Baptist Church with Rev. C.E. Wainscott, paster, officiating. Interment will follow in Old Andrews Cemetery under the direction of Singleton’s Funeral Home.

Fowler died in a Mount Vernon, Illinois hospital. Fowler and his wife had moved to Mount Vernon three weeks ago to live with a daughter.

He was a retired farmer and a native of Alabama. He was member of the Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Mrs. Lola Mae Gross of Andrews and Mrs. Oleta Flack of MountVernon; four sons, Edward, Barney, and James all of Andrews, and J.A. of Waterbury, Conn.; his father, W.G. Fowler, Abilene, and a Sister, Mrs. Janie Van Zant, Odessa.

James Anthony  Fowler, Sr.

James Anthony Fowler, Sr., of Eagle Pass, Texas, passed away March 26, 2006. He was born in Andrews, Texas, June 13, 1948 to Robert Gene and Lola Fowler McKee. Later adopted by maternal grandparents, James and Mary Evans Fowler. He married Phyllis Ann Farmer on 5 Sept 1968 in Andrews.

He and his family moved to Eagle Pass in 1982 where he resided up until the time of this death.

Preceeded in death by: Birth-father, Eugene McKee, Adopted parents, James and Mary Evans Fowler.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Fowler; daughter and son-in-law, Antonia and Michael Grebenok of Eagle Pass; son and daughter-in-law James, Jr. and Sonia Fowler of Eagle Pass; foster son Jesse Davida; three granddaughters, birth mother, Lola Fowler Thomason of Big Spring, half-sisters, Shiley Gross Borders of Cedartown, Georgia and Donna McKee Rounell of Odessa, half-brother, Marvin Gross of Big Spring,  and a number of  other family and extended family.

Memorial services were held March 27, 2006 at 5:30 p.m. at the Yeager Barrera Mortuary Chapel in Eagle Pass.

LELLA FOWLER
July 24, 2006

Services for Lella Fowler, 83 of Andrews, will be 4:00 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Officiating will be Minister C.A. Smith with the Southside Church of Christ in Andrews. Burial will follow in the Andrews Old Cemetery.
She passed away Monday, July 24, 2006 at Permian Residential Care Center in Andrews. She was born on November 6, 1922 in Burkburnett, Texas. She married Barney Joe Fowler on October 12, 1951 in Lovington, New Mexico. Lella was a Nurse, she attended the first nursing class offered by Permian General Hospital.She worked at Permian General Hospital and for DR.'s offices in Andrews for 30 years. She was a member of the South Side Church of Christ. Barney Joe preceded her in death on September 15, 1987. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Lloyd and E.G. Roby and two sisters; Grace McQuitty and Florence Carter
Suvivors include, three sons; Virgil Battenfield, Gun Barrel City,Texas, Carl Battenfield, Gardendale, Texas and Barney Fowler, Andrews, Texas; one daughter, Alva Jones, Brownfield, Texas; 17 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

 

SERAPIO S. FRANCO
September 13, 2006

Rosary services for Serapio S. Franco, 90, of Andrews will be 7:00 PM Friday, September 15, 2006 at McNett Funeral Home Chapel in Andrews. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, September 16, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Andrews. Burial will follow in the Andrews North Cemetery.
He passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Permian Regional Medical Center in Andrews.
He was born November 14, 1915 in Portales, Texas to Jesus Franco and Fausta Sanchez Franco. He married Refugio Carrasco on October 5, 1944 in Ojinaga, Mexico. They lived in McCamey, Crane, and moved to Andrews 1989. He was a rancher, farmer, and had worked for Texas Department of Transporation in McCamey. He was preceded in death by his wife on July 4, 2002; his parents; 5 brothers; and 4 sisters.
He is survived by his 1 daughter: Delma Franco Gonzales and husband E.L. of Andrews; Granddaughter That He Raised: Priscilla Franco Guerrero of Bacliff; 3 sons: Paul Franco and wife Sueann of Odessa, Angel Franco and wife Lupita of Midland, and Silvino Franco and wife Ester of Midland; 14 grandchildren; several great grandchildren; and several great great grandchildren.

Memorials may be sent to Catholic Charities.

 

BETTY FREEMAN
October 27th, 2004

Betty Joyce Freeman, 74, of Vancouver, Washington passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2004 at her home.
Funeral services will be 11:30 AM Saturday, October 30, 2004 at Northside Baptist Church in Vancouver.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 2, 2004 in the Andrews Old Cemetery in Andrews, Texas. Rodney Compton will officiate.
Mrs. Freeman was born July 27, 1930 in Lockney, Texas. She married Harold Freeman on December 22, 1947. He passed away February 28, 1995.
She was a homemaker and a member of Northside Baptist Church in Vancouver. She enjoyed traveling and especially spending time with her friends and family. She also loved animals, ducks, turtles, and birds.
She is survived by: Son-Harold Freeman of Beaverton, Oregon; Daughter-Becky Martin of Boring, Oregon; Brother-A.C. Benton of Channel View, Texas and Her Mother- Laura Benton of Andrews, Texas and 4 Grandchildren.
