ORLANDO VILLA
May 7, 2007

Orlando Villa, 30, of Odessa (formerly of Andrews) passed away Monday May 7, 2007 at his home in odessa.
a Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Friday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Rick Doyle of Means Memorial United Methodist Church in Andrews will officiate. Services are entrusted to McNett Funeral Home in Andrews.
Orlando was born April 12, 1977 in Ojiaga, Mexico. he moved to Andrews in 1982 with his family.
He married Brandy Martin July 31, 1999 in Andrews.
He was a lineman for Sun Electric for the past several years.
he is survived by: Wife - Brandy Villa of Odessa; Two Sons - Leyton and Jonathan Villa of Odessa; One Daughter - Caymberlyn Villa of Odessa; His Parents - Catarino and Gloria Villa of Andrews; Grandmother Tomasa Hernadez of Andrews; one Brother - Hasam Villa of Odessa; and Two Sisters - Cynthia Valdez of Edmond, Oklahoma; and Ivette Villa of San Antonio, Texas.

ISMAEL VALENZUELA
July 16, 2006

Ismael "Baby Yoshi" Valenzuela, III, the One day old son of Ismael "Yoshi" and Stephanie Valenzuela of Andrews passed away Sunday July 16. 2006 at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Baby Ismael was born Saturday July 15, 2006 at Odessa Regional Hospital.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. James Barnes of Odessa will officiate. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery Babyland under the direction of McNet Funeral Home.
Survivors Include: Parents - Ismael (Yoshi) and Stephanie Valenzuela of Andrews; Grandparents - Ismael and Rosa Valenzuela of Andrews; Herman and Annette Montez of Andrews; and Great-Grandmother - Adela Snellenberger of Pecos.

 

CHARLIE VALLES
April 3, 2007

Charlie Valles, 18, of Andrews passed away early Tuesday April 3, 2007.
Funeral Services will be 10:00 AM Friday at Calvary Baptist Church in Andrews. Burial will be in Andrews North Cemetery under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Charlie was born June 3, 1988 in Andrews to Carlos and Mary Valles. Charlie was a life long resident of Andrews. He was a senior at Andrews High School.
Charlie loved to ride motorcycles and dirt bikes. he also loved NASCAR and going to races at Texas Motor Speedway with his Dad. Charlie was a hard worker and was working for Wood Group ESP in Midland.
Charlie is Survived by: His Parents - Carlos and Mary Valles of Andrews; His Little Sisters - Chelsea Marie and Amanda Elizabeth Valles both of Andrews. Grandmothers - Luz Hernandez and Maria Valles both of Andrews; and Great-Grandmother - Juanita Soto of Mexico.

 

Murretta Van Jelgerhuis
February 9, 2007

Murretta J. Van Jelgerhuis, 83, of Andrews passed away Friday February 9, 2007 at her home in Andrews.
Graveside services will be Tuesday February 13, 2007 at Andrews West Cemetery. Members of the Family will speak at the service.
Services are under the direction of McNett Funeral Home.
Murretta was born March 11, 1923 at Indianapolis, Indiana. She married Daniel Van Jelgerhuis August 31, 1940 in Indianapolis.
She worked as a cook and manager for the Albequerque School District and for the University of New Mexico.
She and her husband moved to Andrews in 1984 from Belen, New Mexico.
She loved to readand enjoyed fishing and camping with her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband Daniel in 1999.
She is survived by; Three Daughters - Juanita Horton of Andrews, Judith Lewis of Andrews, and Patricia Joss of Nevada; One Son - Donald Lee Van Jelgerhuis of Odessa; One Brother - Harry Normington of Indiana and two Sisters - Helen Whittington and Rose Mary Normington both of Indiana. Nine Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren.

 

JOSE VARA
January 6, 2006

Jose Porras Vara, 76, of Kermit passed away Friday January 6, 2006 at Winkler County Memorial Hospital in Kermit.
Memorial services will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday January 8, 2006 at Templo "La Nueva Jerusalem" Church in Andrews. Rev. Teodulo Garcia, Pastor will officiate.
Mr. Vara was born January 7, 1929 in Fort Stockton, Texas. He married Beatrice Hernandez in 1949 in Sanderson, Texas. they moved to Andrews from Sanderson in 1958 where he lived until 1989. He moved to Kermit in 2000 from Phoenix, Arizona.
He was Custodian for Andrews Independent School District for many years and he also worked at Permian General Hospital Andrews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1986.
He is survived by: Three Sons - Joe Vara of Tomball, Texas; Jerry Vara of Kermit, Texas; and Jason Vara of Andrews; Three Daughters - Betty Clem of Garland; Mary Hughes of Phoenix, AZ; and Sally Abney of Andrews. One Sister - Candida V. Munoz of Kermit and 12 grandchildren.

 

MARIA ANNA VELA
January 17, 2006

Services for Maria Vela, 76 of Andrews, will be 3:00 PM Thursday, January 19, 2006 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Officiating will be Rev. Joseph Uecker. A rosary services will be at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 18, 2006 in McNett Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be at Ultimo Refujio Cemetery in Ojinaga, Mexico.

Maria died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 in Midland. She was born on July 26, 1929 in Santa Teresa, Mexico. She married Jose V. Vela on January 13, 1947 in El Alamo, Mexico. She was a homemaker and a Catholic.
Survivors include, husband Jose, Andrews; sons, Guadalupe Vela, Ojinaga, Mexico, Jose Luis Vela and Jamie Vela, both of Andrews. Daughter Margarita Favela, Chih, Mexico; brother Fredirico Munoz, Pedro, Mexico, 15 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. A son Jesus Isidro Vela preceded her in death.

 

L.O. VINCENT
July 1, 2006

Graveside services for L.O. Vincent, 87 of Andrews will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2006, at Andrews Old Cemetery. Officiating will be Rev. Alvin Petty, minister of Wesley United Methodist Church.
L.O. was born July 18, 1918 in Luzon, Texas. She married Charlie W. Vincent on November 2, 1946 in Stanton, Texas. She was a member of Means Memorial United Methodist Church and a homemaker. Her husband Charlie preceded her in death on December 30, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter Marlene and husband Buddy Ham of Andrews, sisters Winnell Haines and Von Cates both of Andrews, 4 Grandchildren, Brad Ham, Atlanta, GA, Vickie Ham Bailey, Dallas, Greg Ham and Gill Ham both of Andrews, 2 Great grandchildren; Quarto Ham, Dallas and Ashley Ham of Midland.
