Bonds, George William George W. Bonds Married Annie Causey b. 01 Jan 1887 in Haralson Co., Georgia. I know she was living with her mother and Stepfather (William & Emmaline Puckett) in 1900 at Buncombe, Haralson, Georgia. Emmaline's Father was John Finley. George & Annie Bonds can only be found in the 1910 Census, Wild Cat, Haralson, Georgia. Any help with this family would be greatly appreciated!

Brown, William D. I am looking for information on William D. Brown age 17 b. Sep of 1882 and is listed in the 1900 Haralson Co Alms House census. 1143rd Militia Dist. I think he would be my greatuncle and may have been a orphan by 1892 at the age of 9. His parents would have been Julia A (Watson) Moon Brown and Isaac Brown. Brown, William Jasper. He and his wife Nancy Carolyn McGarity lived in Buchanan in 1888. They had a daughter Bertie Louise Brown in March of 1888. Other sources indicate there may have been as many as 10 Brown children. Also have records that William's wife-Nancy lived to a ripe old age and was a active member in her church. I would love to hear any information on either of these families McGarity or Brown. Chapman, James Buford Have hit the "wall" on obtaining info on James Buford Chapman that married Jennie Felton. Jennie was daughter of James Elcannon Felton. They had two boys and four girls with Josie, the oldest, being born in late 1800s. Spent about a year trying to find the Chapman & Felton ancestors. Also, saw other Chapmans and Chatmans that passed through Haralson County in early 1800. Need help here, please.

Charles, Henry F. Henry F. Charles was born 1825 in Abbeville Co., S. C., he married Sarah Zimmerman in 1845! They left S. C., and first settled in Calhoun Co., Alabama according to the 1860 Census! By 1870 they where living at Tallapoosa, Haralson Co., Georgia. They had five son's; Henry Albert, Joseph Pinkney, William Brownlow, Benjamin Franklin, and Thomas Sherman Charles! Henry Albert married Sarah Exa Little, Benjamin Franklin married Nancy Sarah McElroy, and Thomas Sherman Charles married Edith Lavicia "Edie" White. Sherman & Edie were my great grandparent's, they left Ga. and settled in Lawrence Co., Tenn.! I would like very much to contact anyone working on these line's. Henry F. was the son John & Mary Magdalena Charles, and the grandson of Michael & Rachel "Hair" Charles. Sarah was the dau. of Samuel & Margaret "Haney" Zimmerman, from Edgefield Co., South Carolina! Dykes, Jane/June (Dikes)-I'm looking for the family of Jane/June Dykes (Dikes) b. @ 1846.  She is supposed to be Cherokee per family history.  She had two children on the 1870 Campbell Co. census, my great-grandmother Savannah Susannah Dykes and another daughter.  My great-grandmother married into the Head family of Haralson County producing my grandfather, Charles Christopher Head 1881 (not 1879) to 1965.  Any info deeply appreciated.

Estes, Andrew Jackson "Jack" Jack was born in Troup County, GA abt 1839 and died in 1922. Jack had moved to Cherokee County, AL after the civil war with his first wife and children. In the mid 1880's he bought land in Haralson County on the Tallapoosa River. He divorced his first wife and married Millie Tanner in 1892. They had at least 13 children, family history says 16. Finley, Elbert and Cora Am looking for Elbert Finley and Cora Finley, lived in Harralson, Georogia about 1900 to 1920 or longer. Had a son named Earl, born about 1897 that came to Viginia and never went back. Earl has a brother named Clifton, Irwin and Sherman and a sister and Emily. I believe the family property was seized for taxes and they probably moved out of the county...? Looking for any information on the Fullers as well as their death dates and burial sites. Hall, Parthena-I am looking for information on our family that lived in Haralson County in the 1860 - 1874. Parthena Hall, born in 1848, was the daughter of Hiram and Charity Hall. She married James Thompson on 31 March 1970. They had a son, John Ledford Thompson, Jan. 1870.
The family story is that James and Parthena had marital problems and seperated some time after John was born. James supposedly kidnapped baby John and took him to a cabin somewhere in the area. He was murdered while rocking the baby (rumor is that it was one of Parthena's brothers).
Parthena remarried GB Brown on 2 November 1874.
The ONLY portion of the story that I have found records for is the marriages of Parthena and her family living in Haralson County. Hiram Hall is listed in a book titled Haralson County History where Parthena is noted.
If anyone knows of this story or is locating information on any of these families, I would appreciate any additional information I can locate on this family.

Harrison, George E- looking for the parents and/or siblings of George E Harrison
(1855-1929) married to Lela Felker (1860-1947). George is found in the
census in Haralson in 1900 and 1910. He is then located in Carroll County in 1920 census. George and Lela are buried at Union Hill Methodist Church cemetery in Haralson County. Their children are Eugene W Ray Harrison (believed to Lela's children from a previous marriage), Bernard Allen Ray, Edward Lidell, Mamie Mae, Glenn , George F, Suillie Everette, Lorena, and Chester Horace. I have located the burial place of all the children except Lorena Harrison.

Charles Christopher Head, Sr. Looking for the family of my grandfather, Charles Christopher Head, Sr. He may have lied about his age to get in the army during the Spanish American War. My family records state he was born 11 Jan, 1879 but some records show a Charles CW Head b. 11 Jan 1881 son of Joseph Henry Head. We have old family reunion photographs from the mid 1880's that say "Tallapoosa" on the back. Is my grandpa the son of Joseph Henry Head? Lee Kaplan 7-26-2005

UPDATE: My grandfather, Charles Christopher Head (SR) is the same person as Charles C W Head, son of Joseph Henry Head. Now I have a fairly complete history but I'm still looking for more details. Have you heard of the Heads of Haralson being part Cherokee? My grandpa said he was 1/4. I'm not sure if the Cherokee came from his mother, Savannah Susannah Dykes or John Henry Head. John Thomas Head b. 2/10/1868 d. 4/20/1928. His oldest daughter Berta Mae Head was born in Buchanan 5/2/1890. Who was Tom's wife and Berta Mae's mother? She died while their second daughter, Annie Maude, was still very young, possibly around 1892. It is possible that her name may have been Martha Bartlett, but I can't find anything about her. Jean, Hardy Hopson Hardy Jean was born in 1814 in Pulaski County, Georgia to John and Alcy Jean. After the death of his first wife, Eliza unknown, he married Virginia Caroline Sewell in 1859 in Carroll Co., making him both father-in-law and brother-in-law to two of his daughter's husbands. Hardy served as Justice of the Peace in Haralson Co for over 30 years, but no record of his will can be found and no tombstone. Hardy was an ancestor to Rep. Tom Murphy. Johnson, Sam I am constructing a family tree. I noticed on the Haralson County (Tallapoosa) web site the marriages listed my great grand father Sam Johnson marrying my great grandmother in 1905. I cannot find him anywhere else. Even using ancestry.com. His death certificate indicated his father was Putnam Johnson. I can only find him listed as having married Anna Wiggins in 1890. But no where else in Georgia. Any suggestions? Any directions/information would be appreciated. Thanks,

Johnson, Thomas & Nancy "Tippitt" Thomas Johnson was born abt. 1795 in S.C., and died abt. 1879/1881 in Haralson Co., Ga.! He left a will that is documented on the Haralson Co., Ga. website! In his will he left all of his estate to his dau.-in-law; Nancy Aldridge. He married Nancy Tippitt Dec. 25, 1825 in Greene Co., Ga., and by the 1830 Census, they were living in Butts Co., Ga. Thomas was also listed on the 1840 & 1850 Census of Paulding Co., Ga.! And the 1860 & 1870 Census of Haralson Co., Ga.! Thomas Johnson had two known brother's; Henry & Allen Johnson. Allen was also listed on the 1850 Census of Paulding Co., Ga., and later he lived in Polk Co., Ga.! Thomas Johnson was ordained a Deacon at Bethleham Baptist Church abt. 1843, and a William Johnson was ordained a Deacon abt. 1848, at the same church! In Thomas will, he stated to be buried at Bethleham Church, but has no marker! Need to find more info. about his Nancy's children. George M. Johnson was born abt. 1825/26, he married Sarah McWhorter abt. Dec. 1844 in Paulding Co., Ga., she was the dau. Rev. Leroy McWhorter! George & Sarah was listed living next door to Moses McWhorter in Carroll Co., Ga. in 1850! Sarah may have died before 1860, because George is living in Haralson Co., according to the 1860 Census, and wife then was listed as Nancy born abt. 1827/ 1830! Nancy may have been Nancy Aldridge, mentioned in Thomas Johnson will! George enlisted in Civil War, and died abt. 1864. George & Sarah had three known son's; James A. born 1844, Leroy N. born 1847, and Thomas M. born Aug. 19, 1849! George & Nancy's children were; Lucy, Alfred, William, George, and Amanda Johnson! Jones, Lois Gertrude was from Georgia, attended Berry school for girls when she was young. She married in Jan 1915 in Anniston, AL a man named Johnnie McLeod Taylor. I would love to contact any one who may know who her parents were or where she was born. I know she had a sister named Goldie who married a Walker. I think there may have been more siblings, but don't know their names. My grandmother died in March 1989, so I can't get anymore info on her, trying to remember things my grandma told me as a young child. I do know my grandma said she was part Creek or Cherokee Indian. Langley, Robert E Lee I am looking for any info on McDonalds, Langleys and Shellnuts living in this area and Carroll county. My grandfather was Robert E. Lee Langley born to Andrew J. Langley and his wife Georgia Shellnut. My grandmother Flonnie McDonald daughter of John McDonald and his wife Mattie Spencer. "Bob" Langley was born March 25, 1884 in Haralson County and Flonnie was born November 24, 1880 or 81 in Haralson county. They were married in Haralson Sept. of 1908. they are buried along with my Mother Louise Todd and other family members at Waco Baptist Church in Waco, Georgia. Little, Joseph ~"AKA" William Joseph Little" The name William is only found on gravesite at Mt. Zion West Baptest Church Cemetery, which is a family grave yard. He was born in SC, he married a woman whose name is thought to be Elizabeth they had several children in Wilkes and Jackson Counties GA. She vanished before 1825 when Joseph married Mary Polly Johnson in Jackson Co., GA. where they had children. He was suposedly one of the men who oversaw the lottery in Carrol county and moved there in 1827. He amased around 2000 acres and a cotton gin and died before the 1860 census was taken. Thank You,

Morgan, Jesse H I am looking for any information concerning the family of Jesse H Morgan, born abt 1829. Wife is Sarah A, children: Alonso, Thaddeus(listed as Thomas), and Mary. Jesse owned land in Haralson County, and they are listed on the 1860 Haralson County Census, 3rd District. Supposedly Jesse died in the Civil War and Sarah remarried. The children are listed on the 1870 West End, Fulton County Census with other families and I do not show this Morgan family in 1850 Haralson County. Any help would be appreciated.

Murphy, James Harvey: Married in Habersham County to Sabra Denman, was in Paulding County by 1850. Served in Company K, 40th Regiment GA Volunteer Infantry, killed at New Hope Church ca. June 1864. Parish, Charley Franklin
I find my gr. grandfather Charley Franklin Parish, only one time in the 1900 census of Haralson Co., Ga. He was born in 1853, His wife was named Lisie (Elizabeth Brannon ?) and born 1868. They had 3 daughters, my grandmother Mary Buelah Parish born 1889, Cora T born 1892, Margaret M born 1897. All born in Haralson Co., GA. I know Mary B married Marcus Henry, her mother is shown living with them as Eliza Cameron. Need to know where and when Charley Franklin Parish/Parrish passed away as he is not found after 1900 census. Also would like to get more information on Maggie Pucket, and Cora T Gregory. Ray, William Samuel I am looking for William Samuel Ray and his wife, KITTY WINDOM. I know her father was Marion Windom and her mother was I think Levenia Head. I can`t seem to find farther than that, and I don`t know antthing about William Samuel Ray`s family. They were my great-grandparents, my grandfather was their son Jimmy Ray. Rouse, Sara I would like any information concerning Sara Rouse who later married Mundy Robershaw and then Riley Bass. In court papers she testified that she grew up in Harralson County, Ga. I am not possitive, but beleive her mother may have been Frances Rouse. Any information would be appreciated. She testified that she was about nine years old when the Civil War was over and recalled some of the events. She said her father fought in the Civil War and she could remember when he came home.

Rowell, James and Vianna Dean I am looking for information on James and Vianna Dean Rowell of Buchanan, Georgia. Need DOB and of James and date deceased, his parents names. Need DOB of Vianna and death date.

I am still looking for date of death for James Rowell (approx date of birth is 1858 according to 1880 census) that married Vinninah Dean. She died in 1948. In the 1930 census he was still alive. There were 2 James W. Rowell's in Haralson County but living on different properties during that era. I found a Eli Rowell with siblings James & Marion that parents were Joshua Rowell & Mary Frances Tollison. Could this be them. I also heard that James' parents could be Thompson/Thomas and Elizabeth Rowell. My James Rowell's children were Jefferson, Bruce/Bruister, Ida/Idder, Rosie, Mattie, Mentie/Minnie (my grandmother was Minnie) Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Sewell, Mina A. I am looking for any info. on who Mina was. Who were her parents? I know she was born 1/17/1891. In 1903 she was attending Crossroads Baptist Church in Stedman. She married Juluis Edward Allred in 1905. They had 4 children John, Lillie, Della and Ruben. (Stayed in Stedman) I believe Mina's mother was at one time DC Pruitt from a notation in a family Bible, but who was she before that? and who were her parents? Speight, Robert Thomas I am looking for parents of Robert Thomas Speight (Spate, Spakes, Speights). He was born 9 Oct 1811 in S.C. He married Lucy Anne Dillard 24 April 1831. Smith, Bennie Lee My Gandfather was A Smith from Haralson County Ga. His name was Bennie Lee Smith he was born November 20th 1895, I was told that his mother's name was Zobie and his father's name was Henry Smith. My grandfather married into the Ray/Windom family my grandmothers mother and father were Kitty Windom Ray, and William Samual Ray. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
UPDATE: 9-13-2004 - My grandfather was born in 1893. His parents were Henry and Sabie Smith, this is what my grandfathers obit says from the Adel Georgia newspaper back in 1956. Any info or any little link would be most greatful.

White, James Mussell James M. White born abt. 1816 - 1819 in S.C., married Emily Johnson abt. 1845 in Carroll Co., Georgia! Emily "Emma" Johnson was born abt. 1825/26, and died after 1880 in Cleburne Co., Alabama! James & Emily were on the 1860 and 1870 Census of Haralson Co., Ga., their children were William M. 1846, Warren Malbert 1847, Henry M. 1848, Mary A. 1850, James W. M., 1850, possiable twin to Mary A. White! Nancy Jane 1853, John Washington 1856, Robert B. 1859, Sarah born 1862, and Edith Lavicia {Edie} White born 1866, (my great grandmother)! Edie married Thomas Sherman Charles in the 1890's, and moved over into Cleburne Co., Alabama! Later they were living in Birmingham, Jefferson Co., Alabama! And, by 1910, they were living in Etowah Co., Alabama, and last to Lawrence Co., Tennessee, where they are both buried at Blue Water Missionary Church Cemetery, Loretta, Lawrence Co., Tenn.! I would like very much to contact anyone working on this line of James & Emily "Johnson" White!

Wilkinson, Lucy Susannah Hill My grandfather wrote the following in the 1950s in his memoirs:
"During the period following the Revolutionary War, an ancestor whose name I do not have, was serving as an officer of militia on the frontier in what is now Haralson County, Georgia, the county seat of which is now Tallapoosa. His wife preferred to stay with him, and they left their little girl, named Lucy, with friends at Augusta. Their home was somewhat isolated, and they were killed by Indians, and a small negro slave-girl was thrown head-first against the chimney, after which they set fire to the house and left. The child was not killed, and regained consciousness enough to get out of the house before she was burned to death. Weeks later a patrol of settlers came through and she was seen, and was in such a wild state that she had to be run down by the horsemen to be caught.
The daughter of the couple, Lucy, grew up and married a man named Wilkinson, who did not live very long, and later she married George Washington Frye in Alabama."

Williams, Oscar Looking for any information on Oscar Williams. He was listed on the 1910 Federal Census as living in Buchanan, Georgia along with my grandmother Ola Lee Williams and children, including my father, Reed Williams. I do not know who Oscar's family was. He went off and left Grandma and the kids sometime after 1910. Believe he went to Oklahoma because I remember a young lady named Jimmy Louise Williams coming to visit us in Wisconsin sometime in the late 30's. She said she was from Oklahoma and that Oscar was her father. How she found us up there I do not know because the family lived in Georgia when Oscar ran off. I am looking for information on Daniel Cleveland Windom/Windham, b. 16 Feb 1890 in Georgia d. 3 Oct 1962 in Irondale, AL. He is the son of Melvin F Windom and Nancy Cantrell. Melvin F. Windom is the son of Marion Windom and Louvenia Head. Daniel (Cleve) m arried Ettie Lucile unknown but first he married? a Minnie Cheves and they had a daughter, Gladys Mae Windom b. Dec 6, 1913 in Tallpoosa, GA. I am looking for any information regarding Cleve or Minnie. My mother was Gladys Mae Windom. She was later adopted by Jack Curry. I would appreciate any information from anyone.
