Lovell, Callaway----- Enlisted in Inf. Battn., Smith's Legion, Ga. Vols., February 12, 1863. Transferred to
Co. E, 65th Regt Ga. Inf., March, 1863. Appointed Musician Apr. 30, 1863. Died in hospital at Clinton,
Tennessee , May 22, 1863. (Son of George Lovell, Jr.)
Lovell, Samuel L.----- Private July 17, 1861. Sent to General Hospital at Richmond Va. Oct. 6, 1861.
Discharged Oct. 19, 1861. Enlisted as a private in Co. E, 65th Regt. Ga. Inf. Aug 25, 1863. (Son of George Lovell, Jr.)
Lovell, David-------Private in Inf. Battn. Smith's Legion, Ga. Vols., Aug 25, 1862. Transferred to Co. E,
65th Regt. Ga. Inf. March 1863. Appears on Roll of those on extra duty at Zollicoffer, Tennessee., 1863.(Son of George Lovell, Jr.)
Lovell, J. C. ----Private in Inf. Battn., Smith's Legion, Ga. Vols., Aug 28, 1862. Transferred to Co. E,
65th Regt. Ga. Inf., March 1863,. (Son of George Lovell, Jr.) [Buried Popular Spring Cemetery]
Lovell,Elijah joined the Confederacy on March 4, 1862, as a private in the GA. 20th Infantry, Co D. He
was captured at Vicksburgh, Mississippi July 4, 1863. Paroled there July 6, 1863. Roll for Nov. Dec.
1863 last on file, shows him present. Pension records shows he was on detail to guard a wagon train
and assist in making pontoon bridges close of war. (Son of George Lovell, Jr.)
Lovell, Marion Ga. 65th Inf. CO E. He is buried at Popular Springs in a grave near his brother J. C.
Lovell. It has an unmarked stone. (Son of George Lovell, Jr.)
Lester, John Henry enlisted in the confederate army on March 4, 1862, as private in CO K, 40th Reg
Georgia Voluntary Army, Army of Tennessee, CSA. John Henry Lester was killed in battle at
Vicksburgh, Mississippi in June 21, 1863. --- Grave # 631 Vicksburgh, Miss.(Son of George Washington and Eliza Harriet Goss Lester)
Lester, Benjamin Franklin enlisted as a private in Co A , 40th Reg Ga Vol Army of Tenn. On Aug 1,
1862 he was attached as a nurse to Henry Hospital in Atlanta. On Sept 11.1862 , he transferred to
Captain Joseph Anderson's Company, Virginia Light
Artillery. He was captured in the Battle of Port Gibson, Mississippi on May 1, 1863. Due to illness, he
was exchanged, and on June 21.1863, he died in Vicksburgh,Mississippi the same day that his
brother John Henry Lester was killed at Vicksburgh. (Son of George Washington and Eliza Harriet Goss Lester)
Lester, William W was a private in CO B 40th Reg Ga Voluntary Army of Tennessee. He was
captured by union forces near Atlanta on Aug 13, 1864. He died of smallpox at Camp Chase, Ohio on
February 19, 1865. He's buried there in grave # 1344. (Son of George Washington and Eliza Harriet Goss Lester)
McAdams, William Thomas served in the CSA's 24th South Carolina
Volunteer Infantry, Company F from 1862 - 1864 (was wounded in the Battle of
Atlanta and in hospital in Rome, Georgia). He had enlisted at Abbeville,
SC. He admired the country around Rome and moved with his family to
Haralson Country after the war. (Buried at Little Creek Cemetery - Haralson County. Born 24 Oct 1837 Died 24 Jan 1913)
