Martin Co., TX - Obituaries: Sue Nix Contributed to the TXGenWeb by: Michelle White ========================================= Name: Sue Nix, 83 Died: Tuesday, January 03, 2006, in Midland, Texas Sue Nix, 83, of Stanton, died Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at the Hospice of Midland Inpatient Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday, January 6, 2006 at Ackerly Memorial Park in Ackerly, Texas with Gaylan Lamb, minister of Ackerly Church of Christ, officiating. Viewing will be held at Gilbreath Funeral Home. She was born on October 11, 1922 in Velma, Oklahoma. She moved to Texas in her early childhood where they farmed in Flowergrove, Texas. She married Fred L. Nix on May 1, 1941 in Ackerly and moved to Stanton in 1952. Sue had a strong faith and enjoyed reading the Bible. She also enjoyed crocheting doilies, making quilts and music. In the 58 years she was debilitated and unable to walk, she always had a smile and never complained once. Survivors include her only son, Troy V. Nix of Stanton; her grandchildren, Linn Nix of Odessa, Karen Nix of Stanton, Freddie and Heather Nix of Stanton, four great grandchildren; Tamara Nix, Linn Nix, Nathan and Jordilee Nix; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Matt and Rowena Foster of Duncan, Oklahoma and Toby and Peggy Foster of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred L. Nix; her parents, Albert and Jane Foster; brothers, Jim, Jake, Joe, Jack, Virgil, and Frank Foster; and one sister, Mary Jane Foster. The family would like to thank Hospice of Midland for the wonderful care provided at the Hospice Inpatient Unit, as well as the special care and extra TLC provided by Debbie L., Sheila A., Cathy L., Crystal W., Jesus R., Lucas C., and Franco for making this as painless as possible.
