It happened around seven-thirty in the evening, at the intersection of St. Boniface Street and U.S. Highway 80, near downtown Stanton. A man was crossing the tracks in his car when he was hit by the train, which was reported going sixty miles-an-hour upon impact. The car was carried several hundred feet before coming to rest near a ditch. The man, whose name has not yet been released, was pronounced dead at the scene. It's the second fatal accident, at that Stanton intersection in the past seven months. No crossing guards have been installed … at least, not yet. ”That, as far as the time table of when they will be, we're not sure,” Chief Michael Adams, of the Stanton Police Department, reported. “We have received notification from TxDOT, and the from the railroad, that this crossing is scheduled for cross arms to be installed. As far as an exact date of when that will take place, there hasn't been any information on that.” The victim's body has been sent for an autopsy. Investigators will also be conducting a toxicology report..
