Whitlow Rite Set Today in Winters

WINTERS - Jessis B. Whitlow, 60, died at his home her Friday at 12:15 p.m. after an illness of two years.

Services will be held today at 2:30 p.m. in First Baptist Church with burial in Lakeview Cemetary directed by Spill Funeral Home.

Mr. Whitlow was born Feb. 19, 1905 in Oklahoma's Indian territory. He moved with his parents to Kress, Texas at the age of nine. It was in Kress that he started working for Kimbell Elebator and Mill Co. with which he served in managerial positions for 36 years.

From Kress he moved to Hereford and from there to Winters on Dec. 3, 1941. In Winters he was Kimbell's grain buyer and manager.

Mr. Whitlow was married to Willie Ruby Attaway on Nov. 1, 1930 in Sarah, Okla. He was a Methodist and a member of Winters volunteer fire department.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry B. and William Kay Whitlow, both of Winters; three sisters, Mrs. L.E. Stringer of Corpus Christi, Mrs. Carl Kemp of Dimmitt, and Mrs. Jim Drake of Springer, N.M.; two brothers, Homer Whitlow of Kraft and Pete Whitlow of Happy; and four grandchildren.

Members of Winters fire department will be pallbearers and honorary pallbearers.
