Funeral Services For L.T. Jenkins Held Here Today

Funeral services were held at Stevens Memorial Chapel today (Tuesday) at 2:00 p.m. for Lister T. Jenkins, 78, who passed away in Veterans Hospital at Temple at 10:00 p.m. Saturday, December 26, 1970. Interment followed in Coleman Cemetery under direction of Stevens Funeral Home.

Rev. A.J. Wormwood, pastor of Trinity United Methodist Church, officiated and James West, Bobby Traylor, Barney Ransberger, Randall Watson, Henry Dodson and Nance Campbell served as pallbearers.

Mr. Jenkins, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Jenkins, was born at Crews May 9, 1892, and he and Miss Ruby Gray were married at Winters March 12, 1919. A resident of Coleman since 1957, he was a farmer, a member of the Methodist Church, a veteran of World War I, and a member of the American Legion.

Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. L.T. Jenkins of Coleman; three sons(snip); five daughters(snip); two sisters, Mrs. Zula Marshall of Lamesa, Mrs. Bertha Fleming of Corpus Christi; three brothers, Sam Jenkins of Abilene, Clyde of Artesia, New Mexico, Jessie of Winters; 20 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
