Mrs. Riddle Dies at 84 In Winters

WINTERS (RNS) - Mrs. John A. Riddle, 84, died at 4:20 p.m. Tuesday  in the Winters Municipal Hospital. She had been in ill health for the past two and a half years.

Funeral will be held at 3:30 p.m.  Wednesday in the Spill Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Harry Grantz, pastor of the First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery.

Born Effie Ann Caudle July 29, 1883, in Gion, Ala., at the age of 11, she moved with her family to Texas and in 1905 they came to Runnels County, living in the Winters-Ballinger area until 1926 when the moved to Winters. She married Mr. Riddle April 8, 1906, at Ballinger. He died July 31, 1965.

She was a member of the First Baptist Church.

Survivors include five sons, Hoyett of Temple, Ray of Winters, Delton (snip), Coy (snip), Andy (snip) (all three of Abilene); a daughter, Inez Mayfield of Robert Lee; one brother, W. S. Caudle of Hatchell; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Denton of Kingville; 22 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
