Robert L. COON died at home in Waco on Thursday, 10 April 2003, at age 75. His funeral was Sunday, 13 April 2003 at Wilkirson-Hatch Funeral Home, 6101 Bosque Blvd., Waco, with Rev. Nolan W. Garrett, pastor of Emmanuel United Anglican Church, officiating, and burial was to be in Norton Cemetery, Norton, Texas. He was born 30 October 1927, in Houston, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and was a retired agent for Internal Revenue Service. He was active in the Republican Party of McLennan County. His wife, Jean, and a son, Michael, predeceased him. (The obituary did not include his volunteer work with Central Texas Genealogical Society in Waco.) Survivors: three daughters and one son (PRIVATE). There were also five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and Bob's sister(PRIVATE). In lieu of flowers, memorials were requested for this church or to American Cancer Society.

He and his wife, Jean A. COON, were members of Central Texas Genealogical Society, 1717 Austin Ave., Waco, Texas 76701. Jean was born 13 September 1925 and died in Waco on 30 May 2001. Her obituary was in the "Waco Tribune-Herald" on Friday, 1 June 2001, page C2. I assume she was also buried in Norton Cemetery.
