DEATH AT SHARON
Mrs. Ann O`Keefe Passed Away Thursday In Her Eighty-Third
Year.
Sharon, Ga., May 30—Mrs. Ann O`Keefe died at the
home of her son, Mr. John O`Keefe, in Sharon. The 18th
inst., at the advanced age of 88 years.
Mr. O`Keefe was a native of Ireland. Born in
town of Duntalk, county Louthe, A.D. 1823. She was the wido
of the late Daniel O`Keefe, who was for many years was one
of the foremost citizens of Sharon, and who, when he died in
1885, was as widely known and highly respected as any man in
Taliferro County.
In January of last year, during a sleet and
storm, Mrs. O`Keefe fell and sustained a dislocation of the
knee joint. The dislocation was promptly seduced, but she
never recovered from the shocks sustained, and was not again
able to leave her bed.
During the long, weary months succeeding, she
was always very patient and resigned, often expressing
herself to her many friends as only waiting for her Heavenly
Father to come and take her home.
She was a woman of exceptional intelligence.
Being a great reader she was possessed of a fund of
information far beyond the ordinary.
As a neighbor she was well beloved and was
highly esteemed by all who came within the range of her
acquaintance.
The large lot of people who thronged the
Catholic Church, of which she was a devout member, to pay
the last tribute of respect to her memory, attested the
wideness and depth of affection with which she was held by
all.
She leaves one son and one daughter, Mrs.
Williams L. Kendrick, and a host of friends to mourn her
departure. |
