DAVIS, WILLIAM LEWIS--See Family Group Sheet-lot of the information comes from the family that William Lewis Gardener Davis was born in Wilkes county and they had a plantation. I just would like to get past the block. In some notes it says that he is part of the Davis family of the 3 brothers which came from England and part of that line is Jefferson Davis.

Ogletree, Susan

The ancestor I'm looking for is Susan Ogletree, b. About 1800.  She married James Crews on Jun 1, 1818, and is thought to be the daughter of David Ogletree and Rebecca(h) Turner, although I can find no definitive link to her parentage.  I am looking for some concrete record of her parentage to link her to David and Rebecca.  Thank you!

RAINS, Ignatius is in the Wilkes Co., GA tax lists by 1791. Later, when Elbert Co. is formed from Wilkes a Dabney Rains is located in Elbert Co, and Ignatius is now in Oglethorpe (Ignatius' farm was located on the river where the 3 counties come together). Dabney isn't recorded (as far as I've researched) in any county until 1813 when he later sells a piece of land in 1820 to Gabriel Booth. Click here for more information.

Reynolds, George

I have a brick wall of George Reynolds and Elizabeth Beckley. I believe they were both born about 1771. One World Tree shows a marriage 14 May 1795. Wilkes County marriage groom index Q-r shows the marriage 1820 this is not a correct date. In the Wilkes County 1820 census, Elizy B Reynolds has two sons that match the dates of two sons that I have found. Gabriel Robinson Reynolds b 1898 and Peter S Reynolds b abt 1796. Don't know what S is for. Peter married Francis Grant and Gabriel married Ann Grant. Peter died before 1830.

Gabriel is in Hancock County 1830 Census with Elderly woman( Elizabeth ) listed in his household. Gabriel is listed in court records ogf Hancock County as Gaurdian of peter's three children.
